DYNO DAY!

Post by PAULSO4GT on Sun Jan 13, 2008 1:10 am

I know I'm way too early for this idea (for lack of a better term), but I was at the shop I goto, ELD Performance, hold your sighs til I'm done plz. Anyway I can get us a day there for a meeting, cookout and dyno pulls. Was thinking somewhere in spring, summer and early fall. If and when we set a date, I will get more info and let you know asap.

P.S. For those of you had a bad experience or a friend had one, sorry to hear that. I know a couple of people that won't go back there. Its not the same way it used to be, #1 new techs. #2 bigger shop(they moved) and #3 Im happy w/ what they have done for me so far, granted its not much but, the list is gonna get longer.

I think a dyno day is a great idea. You're right, some of us have had bad experiences there (Zach and I did with his '86 back when ELD was in Crofton across from Friendlys) but a dyno day isn't exactly about getting work done on your car, it's about the fun. So you got my vote Paul...

Kinda off topic but speaking of dyno's yesterday i went to a dyno day at a shop year me and the 4 top cars they had on the dyno was a 780rwhp rx7...824rwhp IS300...1100rehp supra and a..........1360rwhp SUPRA!!!! all i gotta say is wow those cars were the loudest thing i have ever heard and their turbos sounded like an airplane when it was spooling!!!...but yea dyno days are def alot of fun so i say we should do one also

I was at the NVMC meeting last night and Ceece mentioned about having dyno days as well this year. he didn't say what shop, but three of the sponsor's shops have dynos. I wouldn't mind also hitting one of the MPSF dyno days either.
Scubasteve, one of those Supras a dark green late model? There was one at the NVMC drag day even back in April that was launching horribly and still running 10.0s!!!!!

I'm not going to badmouth Brian or his crew. I think they know their stuff. I have taken some of my past DR cars to him to work on. Never had an issue. The only thing I would suggest to Brian, is when a customer just paid 6 grand to have a supercharger installed and dyno tnued... when they take a test run and blow the car up... wait to laugh AFTER the customer leaves!!!! Was in the showroom when this happened... customer was in tears...

He is ok in my book, Would rather hit up Justin's place. Justin knows his !@#$ and is one of the nicest guys to talk to. He will work with you before asknig for your money
