PM notification pop up

When you receive a new one, is there supposed to be a pop up letting you know you have one? I have the notification box checked, but I have yet to see a pop up. for a new PM.

Also I am getting e-mail notification for a new PM and I have that feature checked no.

First, the obvious question: do you have a pop up blocker on? Can you try sending me a Private Message and let's see how my system reacts.

I need to keep digging regarding the second problem...

John, I do have a pop up blocker. However, all other forums I belong to are not affected by it. PM forth coming.

OK so where are we w/ this pop up and the e-mail notification. I mean, I can do w/o the pm pop up but the e-mail thing is a PITA!!!:evil:

Are you using Internet Explorer or Firefox?

alright the pop up blocker has forum motion listed as a bad site you have to set your pop up blocker to allow popups from this site, just got an email from the forum motion tekies a minute ago

That's what I'm using (IE7). When I got a PM notification, there was a tan bar at the top of the page letting me know there was a pop-up. It gave me the option to either allow the pop-up permanently or temporary. I set it for permenant and so far it's working!

Hmmmm, interesting. I haven't had to make any changes like that for any of the other forums I post on. I did change the pop up blocker to allow for this site. We'll see what happens when I get one.
